I would like to move from my 5800x3d to AM5 platform.
With the impending release of Ryzen 9000, should I consider waiting for the new chipsets to come out, or would it be fine watching for sales and snag a motherboard and RAM until the CPUs come out?
I’ve heard the new chipsets are supposed to see a bump in RAM speed support but I don’t know if that will translate to anything meaningful?

Be careful, I'm an ITX and have no idea if any ITX will be released with the new chipset.

The chipset doesn't affect RAM at all; control is managed by the processor. The main variation lies in how well the same generation of chipsets supports different memory types.

Ryzen 9000 series are expected to feature a faster IMC controller, which is mainly relevant for RAM.

The upcoming AMd chipset generation, the 800 series, is still uncertain but will likely offer improved I/O and peripheral performance. Unless this matters to you, the 600 chipset series should remain equally compatible. New memory prices are likely to rise initially, so you may need to wait before finding a good deal.

I'd really wait for the 9000X3D components before making the upgrade. The 5800X3D is definitely capable of handling all the games you play.
