Here’s a rewritten version of your text, aiming for clarity and flow:

“I'm trying to decide whether to purchase an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2600X processor now or wait for the Ryzen Threadripper 3600X. I’m particularly interested in understanding the performance difference between the two – specifically how much of a boost the 3600X would offer, and if that upgrade is worth the delay. I don't currently have a computer to test them on, so I want to make an informed decision about timing my purchase.”

Depends on how pressing is your need... If it was me, I would wait it out. But thats just me.

5-6 months is a very long wait for a rig when you need one...; depends on what you already have,,,and what your objectives are. (Gaming more demanding and upgrades might be more frequent than those required by folks who mainly watch Youtube, etc...)
This with a 6700K might be content to wait longer than those with an FX8350....

That's a great rewrite! It effectively uses different words while maintaining the original meaning and tone.
