Burnt Athlon 200GE with one core and one thread
Hello, I overclocked an Athlon 200Ge and made an error (Asus Bios included). I set the frequency to 4.4Ghz and adjusted the VDDCR CPU voltage by 0.20000v. The system started booting but now shows a single-core, one-thread processor in both CPU-Z and benchmark results. Did I damage one of the cores? Was the high voltage the issue or the frequency setting? Could it be fixed? Updated February 20, 2021 by Cotobakan
Reset the CMOS. The 0.2v is extremely weak, so it seems the BIOS has stopped working correctly and is struggling to maintain the setting.
4.4ghz is quite fast for that generation. You're wondering how you managed to start even at 1.4v (+0.2). My 2600 can boot at 4.2 with 1.45v, though it's not stable. Reset the BIOS and set the clock to a more reasonable value.
