Hi, with the new B550 boards now available, I'm planning to upgrade my PC. My main choice for the motherboard is the Asus TUF X570. The B550 boards are priced over $200 and offer fewer features than the X570, so I'm considering a more affordable option around $180 for the TUF X570. The main question is whether the premium X570 is worth it compared to the TUF X570. I'm also thinking about getting the Aorus X570 Ultra, which is now available for $300.
I plan to pair my motherboard with a Ryzen 3800X or the upcoming Zen3 processor and a Corsair H100i liquid cooler. I'll also add a Gen 4 SSD MP600, and possibly another one later. For features, I need Wi-Fi and good audio drivers for my Razer Nari Ultimate headset.

B450 tomhawk max B550 pro 4 X570 tuf Prime x570-p B550 tomhawk mag offers the strongest power output, reaching up to 300A current.
What features are you looking for? Most B550 actually have better features than the low end X570. Something like the MSI B550 Tomohawk should be good. Exceptional VRM, better than most X570, plenty of connectivity, and pcie 4.0. (plus it's looks much better IMO) Unless you want pcie 4.0 for more than one expansion slot and more than one m.2 drive, then I see no reason to get the X570. If you need WiFi something like the MSI B550 Mag Mortar WiFi would work nicely
The Aorus X570 Ultra seems to lack significant value compared to its price. I’d prefer the X570 Unify at $250 or the X570 Tomahawk at $210 over it. The TUF X570-Plus is a solid option, making the B550 Tomahawk a reasonable pick. For power delivery, these boards are comparable, suitable for even a PBO 3950X. Ultimately, it comes down to the features, rear IO options, and personal priorities.
I understand there are many connectivity options available on the B550. As I plan to add more components later, such as an SSD, I’m concerned that the extra component might reduce my graphics card’s PCI lane from X16 to X8. In the X570, I believe there won’t be any problems. Regarding features, mainly Wi-Fi and audio are important. Otherwise, I don’t have any other ideas.
The x16 lanes are coming from the CPU. Even if it does occur (it won't), the impact will be minimal.
