I understand your perspective on the upgrade route, but it would definitely result in a significant performance boost compared to the 13th Gen i7.

100% and I think they're thinking about how long they'll be sitting on the build. I've got the B760 and I'm planning to stick with an all-Int setup using the 13600K and an ARC 770. (Hoping the price of the 13600K drops soon)
If that was my main choice, I could hold onto the B760 13600 or 13700 until the 15th.

Thank you for the feedback. I should note that I tend to lean more toward team red for CPUs and team green for GPUs, which is the opposite of what you mentioned. Overall, the build I suggested seems stronger compared to what PCDiga recommended, at least from my perspective.

Sure! You're asking for a clear explanation of what you mean by needing a new PC with only €1500, while making sure the purchase is worthwhile.

I mean what you're referring to is that cheaper options often come with restrictions and fewer features, and sometimes they're just outright poor products. For example, buying a low-cost, unbranded PSU to save money might result in it failing and damaging other parts. When I talk about a bad buy, I mean there are no upgrade paths for certain models like AM4 or LGA 1700, and even AM5 has its limits. While AM5 lasts longer, if you're targeting around 1500 watts, you'll eventually need to consider cheaper AM5 boards. There are different types of boards available, and some models I found cost a lot more than high-end ones. My goal was to stick with the same board until AM6 so I could benefit from better features and avoid the need for an upgrade later. My cheaper board started to show problems like high VRM temperatures and missing features, which affected its long-term value.

Later down the line,
@Why_Me
recommended the B760 13700K. If you plan to keep it for about three years, it will offer better performance than lower-end AM5 boards. This gives you more flexibility to switch to a new platform, whether it's AM6 or the latest 15th-gen Intel chips.

Okay so if I understood you correctly:
- Buy branded PSUs, even if that means paying a little bit more, for the safety and quality of it
- High-end AM4 is better than low-end AM5
- AM4 has no upgrade path and a worse life span than AM5
With that being said, and given the fact that you and I seem to prefer AMD CPUs with NVIDIA GPUs, unlike
@Why_Me
, who seems to prefer Intel CPUs and AMD GPUs, what changes would you make to the original build I was given? I know you've already said the following:
My problem with this is the fact that the motherboard seems to be almost double the price, even though the CPU is the same price, despite being AM5 (something that confuses me because I don't see why a better and newer product would be the same price as a worse one).
I'm lost on what to do. I don't know which components of which generations to pick. The only thing I know for sure is that I want cl16 3600MHz 32Gb RAM, an NVIDIA graphics card (because I've had multiple friends and acquaintances with driver problems in AMD's GPUs) and that a 750W PSU is enough so long I don't cheap out on it. Other than that, I haven't a single clue about what Motherboard, CPU, and GPU triplet to go with, taking into consideration the €1500-€1600 budget.
