The Ryzen 3000 doesn't work well with Windows 7 by default. You may need to adjust settings and install additional drivers, especially for older programs. For legacy applications, Intel might be a more suitable option.

Newer Intel CPUs aren't compatible with Windows natively, but choosing a 7th generation model helps minimize losses. Generally, Intel performs legacy applications more effectively.

He should confirm the current setup, as the system still functions well but can’t upgrade to newer versions. The decision isn’t about a clean install due to dependency constraints; instead, the existing machine will stay on version 7 and be relocated to a server room for remote access via RDP.
