Build AdviceNew PC Build
Hey! I plan to assemble a PC for a family member. I’ll order the components, prepare everything, and then deliver it to him for installation.
Approximate purchase date: Open, no preference.
Budget range: Around 1,500€ including shipping.
Usage priority from highest to lowest: Gaming is essential—strictly ASE and SE, but I’ll leave room for extra power in case he discovers a better game later.
Monitor: Yes, if the budget allows, a 32-inch monitor would be nice. 60Hz is fine.
Parts to upgrade: New Build
OS: Yes, I need to install an operating system.
Preferred parts sources: Amazon Europe and other European delivery stores such as Alza.
Location: Styria, Austria
Parts preferences: I’ll follow the same setup I used in my own build—Montec Air 903 Base

Overclocking: No
Multiple GPUs: No
Static protection: I’ll include something to guard against static charge. I didn’t prioritize this in my own build, but I want to be cautious with someone else’s investment.
Monitor resolution: Unknown. Figuring that out would take a long time with the person building it.
Additional notes: This PC is for a family member who is very unfamiliar with computers. Anything likely to break or require manual adjustments is best avoided.
Most importantly, why are you upgrading? He’s been targeted by scammers claiming this PC can run any game, just to find outdated hardware. I want to ensure the machine runs smoothly and reliably.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

A solid setup. The CPU performs well for gaming, paired with a decent GPU. The rest of the components are well matched. Other builders might have alternative choices, especially @Why_Me and similar users. Feel free to keep the discussion going.
I wouldn't choose 32 inches since it won't look great in 4K, but 27 inches works fine at 1440p.
Why not simply provide him with a PS5? If it's solely for gaming, and he may struggle with the technology, it could be less enjoyable. Consoles are designed for that kind of use.
He doesn't prefer consoles. I've already mentioned this before.
Maybe it's because he dislikes controllers.
He really enjoys gaming on PC. Getting him to play is always... tough.
It took a lot of time to explain Steam to him and what it does,
but he actually liked it once he was able to launch the game.
I also dislike consoles. I've been playing on PC for the past twenty years. However, for those who struggle with computers, it's often a more suitable choice. But if someone prefers PC, I can't object to that.
