It's been ten years since I assembled my own PC with the support of this great community. This might be a long road ahead, so I'm seeking fellow members who are committed for the long term as well. I've already purchased my case—a Meshify 2, which I appreciate for its design and flexibility, fitting most components I need... (or at least what I can afford). I'm considering upgrading to a motherboard next, specifically the GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Master X (LGA 1700). I'm sure it should fit, but I'd value any feedback or insights from others. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I didn't realize that before... My initial project was beyond my budget, but I managed to complete it in roughly six months by purchasing components as needed. Probably a bit fortunate that nothing broke down during the process.

I would refrain from acquiring anything for the Intel 13/14th generation right now. These units are known to have frequent stability problems with their 65W and above CPUs. I suggest waiting until the AMD 9000 series CPUs launch in roughly two weeks, and consider getting a 9700X or opting for a 7800X3D immediately. Of course, you can choose any graphics card that fits your budget; however, the other components I’ve listed are quite solid for their price point, so I’d aim to stick with them as the foundation. Here’s my advice if this is intended for a gaming or general PC build.

I've also used Intel throughout most of my career, but in 2019 I switched to Zen 2 and stayed committed. AMD is a strong rival to Intel, unlike the situation ten years ago when AMD was struggling with few products. Here are some points to consider:

For gaming needs, I'd pick the 7800X3D instead of the 9700X.

I was expecting a versatile player. I'll be engaging in gaming as well as working with video editing tools.

This is quite serious, and it seems like this isn't a typical situation...
If I move to AMD, will it impact all my parts? I'm sure about the motherboard.
What's the top AMD processor that handles both intense gaming and video editing well?
Thanks again for your time
