Build AdviceGaming PC Build ?
Hello,
I’m planning to assemble a new PC within a budget of approximately £1,850. I intend to purchase the components myself to cut costs and want to ensure the setup remains relevant for the future.
Currently, I use a 1440p display at 165hz and play a variety of games, from high-end titles to titles like CS2. My goal is to make this build as future-proof as possible.
Here’s a current configuration I’m considering, but I welcome any suggestions or feedback. I have no specific preferences for Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA, so all recommendations are welcome.
I’m based in the UK and plan to buy parts during Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Please forgive any errors in this build; any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
*UPDATED*
Thank you for your responses! I’ve been researching the availability of a 9800X3D and realized it might not be accessible until early 2025. Would a Ryzen 5 7600 serve as a suitable temporary CPU? I’d plan to upgrade to the 9800X3D once it’s more readily available, which should be in 3 to 6 months.
Hi All,
Thanks for your responses! I was planning to purchase the parts but didn’t realize how difficult it would be to get a 9800X3D. Would a 7800X3D be a better alternative? I’d save about £60. From what I’ve read online, the first restock is expected in early 2025—would it be smarter to wait then instead of switching for a 7800X3D?
I was just looking at the article on TechSpot you mentioned—definitely worth checking out:

I’d consider DDR5-6000 CL30. If you aim to reduce expenses, the gap between the 9800x3D and 7800x3D models is under 5 fps at 1440p, and the 7800x3D also handles heat better.
