Build AdviceBuild advice
Hello, I am building a PC for my friend with my used Rx 6800. This will be a living room gaming pc that will be used with a 1080p 60hz TV. I don't want to make him overspend on a build that will push hundreds of FPS but I still want it to make sense and not be overly bottlenecked.
With CPU, board and ddr5 ram all being more expensive where I live an AM5 doesn't really make sense for our situation.

The system is based on what's cheap in my local area I will share alternative parts with relative prices below:
5600(no stock cooler) + b550 ds3h= -20%
13400f + same b660m board in the list= +20%
12400f + asrock b660 riptide (bclk oc)= +12%
Price-performance which is the way to go? I don't think future proofing is a thing, he just wants to be able to play games at ultra / RT for as long as possible with the current setup.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! With high prices for CPUs, boards, and DDR5 RAM in your area, an AM5 setup isn't really practical. Where are you located? It's recommended to format your thread with details relevant to this discussion; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice*. First, acknowledge the right place to ask—this follows the same spirit as the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* post. I made it because many people here and on the CPU forums are seeking upgrade guidance, and I believe... forums. A budget tailored to your needs, location, and preferred purchase sites would greatly assist the community. I notice your PSU is already listed in the PCPartPicker link—if it's in use, how recent is the unit and what was its previous power supply?
Hello, thank you for your format. I intend to purchase a high-power 750w elite PSU. It wasn’t listed in the options on pcpartpicker.
Estimated Purchase Date: Irrelevant, I can wait a month or two if something suitable appears.
Budget Range: 500-600 USD excluding the GPU.
Usage Priority: From most to least important – TV gaming at 1080/60Hz and possibly a future 1440p display.
Monitor Inquiry: No.
Upgrade Items: CPU-Mobo, I already own the GPU Rx 6800.
OS Purchase: No need for an OS upgrade.
Note: If you have an OEM Windows license, you’ll need a new one when buying a new motherboard.
Preferred Parts Site: akakce.com
Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Parts Preferences: None
Overclocking Consideration: Possibly, if recommended
SLI or Crossfire: No
Monitor Specs: 1920x1080 at 60fps
Extra Notes: Seeking advice on overlooked aspects. I want to ensure my investment has the greatest impact. It’s about spending wisely. Most importantly, why am I upgrading?
For console-style gaming on an old 60Hz LCD at 1080 ultra with RT enabled. I aim to keep it running as long as possible without needing a replacement.
if AM4 is affordable in your area, the 5700X3D will be available on January 31st. It could be a solid option for gaming.
for power supply units, aim for an ATX 3.0 Tier A PSU. it should work smoothly without any issues for years to come.
