It was merely an illustration of what upgrading would entail, yes—it's a different scenario, but I'm sticking with my current setup for now. If AM4 were obsolete today, I'd have pursued AM5 without creating this discussion, but since it remains available, I was just considering the possibilities. My reasoning was that a more advanced AM4 build would be preferable to an entry-level AM5, although I didn't focus much on single-core performance, likely because of how I've used my PCs over time.
