And as usual: well, gee, it was working yesterday and I didn't do anything on my end to change...anything. it's a fucking thing: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...a26?auth=1 what in the hell did MS do to windows 11 to make suck so many fucking bags of dicks? Sigh barf I guess this is my clew go back to 10? problem with that? a different kind of headache.
It seems uncertain but likely w11 includes additional telemetry and unnecessary features compared to w10. Since w10 had some issues on lower-end systems, its successor probably evolved in the opposite direction, though it's unclear if it will be worse than w10. It might improve or stay similar over time. If you prefer w10, you can revert easily. Switching to Linux is possible but comes with a learning curve and compatibility challenges. I believe there are methods to fully control system files, eliminating restrictions like "you aren't allowed." Still, it could affect things such as Windows updates, so it's not a straightforward fix.
Refreshingly stable! I’m not sure I dislike W11. It’s disappointing when it feels a bit off despite its nice appearance right out of the box. The bugs and odd options really frustrate me. I can’t seem to get the explorer to handle both zip and rar files smoothly—currently just logging in works. There was an update meant to improve performance on my CPU, but it scared me when I first had to enter my MS account password. Feeling a bit locked out of my own machine was unexpected. Overall, it’s okay that Windows 10 has become snappier lately, though it still drags sometimes. My setup is a bit shaky after updating from Windows 10 to W11; AMD and Microsoft seem to shift performance burdens onto users, which isn’t ideal. I can’t picture how much heat they’d generate if Apple or Intel did the same.
I'm still using Windows 7 and will keep running it even if "Windows 10 isn't up to date." It's not safe to rely on more updates when I don’t have system restore, CMD, or full backups as fallbacks. Since I've been downloading malware since Windows 7 became outdated, it’s become clear that it’s not a reliable option. W8 was disliked because it felt too mobile-focused and not suitable for desktops, though it had some decent features. W9 was a bit confusing because it was released recently, so I’m hoping it’s not terrible but I’ll be careful. By the time I upgrade to something better, I’d probably switch to Linux instead of Windows, or at least keep Windows updated minimally without breaking everything.
