Hello everyone, I'm seeking some guidance on upgrading. I'm running an i3 8100 with my 1660 Super. It seems there might be a performance issue, especially in certain games. However, I don't play many CPU-heavy titles and know my CPU isn't very strong. Recently, I started streaming Apex Legends and adjusted the settings to limit CPU usage to around 50-60% when only that app is active. Streamlabs OBS still reports high usage (90-100%) and causes noticeable lag in my stream, while my game runs smoothly at 70fps on a 60Hz monitor. As a student with limited funds, I prefer finding a workaround rather than upgrading to a Ryzen 2600 if possible. Also, NVENC is something I'm not familiar with. Thanks for your help!

NVENC leverages the native video encoder built into your GPU for streaming, rather than relying on your CPU. This approach would resolve your issue completely—though the slight reduction in stream quality is justified since it avoids using your CPU.

Oh yes interms of rendering there is no competition but streaming I find nvec ever so slightly Sharper

For streaming, I’d just use nvec—it’s really solid and there’s no point in using extra CPU for encoding.
