BSOD & Games Crashes Occur Unpredictably?
Typically my PC handles games such as Overwatch, Warframe and CS2 smoothly, but lately it starts to crash when launching games at startup as well as during mid-game when entering certain levels or lobbies. I don’t understand what’s happening. I’ve tried resetting the PC, using DDU, and even rolling back my GPU drivers. I also ran a memtest just to confirm my RAM wasn’t faulty. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide detailed information about your system. Please list the specifications clearly, such as:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, mention the current BIOS version for your motherboard. What are the operating temperatures of your components when under load? Where did you obtain the installer for your games?
Do you mean a crash that forces the system to restart or a system reboot? A BSOD indicates a reboot will occur.
The system details are as follows: CPU i7 13700k, cooler Asus Ryujin II 360, motherboard Asus Z790 Hero, RAM Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 4800mhz, storage Sk Hynix P41, GPU GTX 1080 (planned upgrade later), power supply Corsair RM1000x, chassis Lian Li o11 dynamic evo, operating system Windows 11, monitor lg 27gl850-b. I have the most recent BIOS update and games generally run between 70-85°C. Crashes often occur either by closing the game entirely or disrupting discord, sometimes resulting in a blue screen. Most commonly, I encounter the error code mentioned earlier. I believe my GPU might be the issue, but I’m not sure if it’s the hardware or software.
