Hey there, I've been facing the same problem for a long time. I can't find any solution, my PC keeps crashing when trying to play games, but it works perfectly during browsing or watching movies. To put it simply, the PC only runs smoothly with a single channel memory of 16GB. If I add another 8GB, it crashes.

I've tried different RAM, different power supplies, and even different GPUs. I also used memory that crashed in friends' PCs and it worked fine there. I've reinstalled the system many times. The RAM tests don't show any errors, and even running benchmarks for the GPU and CPU for hours doesn't cause a crash.

The issue is exactly the same as described here.
[SOLVED] - System crashes when using dual channel, but not with single channel.
My PC is a year old, built from scratch. Ten days ago, it started crashing without BSOD and would loop into POST repeatedly before shutting down. I manually boot the PC, and it loops a few times before successfully loading Windows 10. I also noticed the case fan lights...

If anyone has any tips, let me know. I've been struggling for so long but don't play games much, so I leave it unresolved until I come back to gaming and realize my PC isn't working properly. Then I just give up every time.

PC specs: R5 5600, ASRock B450M Steel Legend, RTX 3060 Ti, 2x8GB DDR4 3200MHz Corsair, and a Kingston 2x16GB but it only works with a single stick inside. I have a CHIPSET PSU of 600W and another MSI PSU of 700W.

Pc specs R5 5600, asrock B450m steel legend, rtx 3060ti, 2x8gb ddr4 3200 corsair and the kingston 2x16gb. It functions best when installed in a single stick configuration. Chieftec psu 600watt and other one msi 700watt are recommended. When posting troubleshooting threads, it's important to share your complete system specifications. List them clearly as: CPU, CPU cooler, motherboard, ram, ssd/hdd, gpu, psu, chassis, os, monitor. Include the age of the psu along with its make and model. The bios version for your motherboard is also needed at this stage. Chieftec and MSI are both brands of the psu, but the advertised wattages are 600W and 700W respectively. This suggests you may be dealing with a generic Chieftec unit, which could cause issues. I don’t remember MSI ever releasing a psu capable of delivering 700W, so clarification is necessary.

2x8gb ddr4 3200 corsair and the kingston 2x16gb should be used together only if you’re combining kits. Clarify what you mean by crash—if it’s a BSoD, please share the .dmp files for review. If this occurs during gaming, specify the game titles you’re using. Where did you obtain the installers for these games?

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
CPU cooler: Peerless Assassin 120
Motherboard: AsRock B450M Steel Legend
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8gb) C16
SSD/HDD: Samsung 500GB m.2 NVME 980
GPU: Zotac RTX 3060 TI 8GB
PSU: Chieftec GPC-600s 600W and an older model around 5,6 years; another is MS Industrial MS Platinum Pro 80 700W, brand new.
Chassis: Unknown generic model
OS: Windows 10
Monitor: Samsung SA350
I haven’t mixed any memories, just want to emphasize that the RAM type doesn’t affect performance—only a single stick works.
There’s been an issue where after a crash, no dump file appears even after restarting. It resembles a blue screen but happens in milliseconds; sometimes it’s just a freeze with game audio stuck, and the PC restarts on its own.
I checked temperatures on all hardware, and the GPU is running around 80°C while the CPU stays between 65-70°C.
The games that freeze or crash are Red Dead Redemption 2, Dying Light 2, Rust, Need for Speed Heat, Counter Strike 2, but League of Legends works fine without any issues.
