BSOD error "Driver power state failure" detected on a week-old Acer Nitro 5 A515-46.
Laptop is only a week old with Windows 11 installed and GeForce Experience drivers. Acer claims the software is current. My BIOS version is 1.09, matching the latest on the official site. Problems appear more often when the device isn’t plugged in (about six to seven times in twenty minutes yesterday). The trackpad freezes first, then after roughly thirty seconds it crashes with a BSOD. I’ve seen this before even when plugged in—after inserting my Logitech G703 USB dongle in the correct port, the issue still occurs. I also have two USB dongles: one for Bluetooth headphones (Logitech APTX) and another for my mouse. I suspect the problem could stem from hardware or software, but I haven’t tested removing them yet. I’ve tried reinstalling Nvidia drivers in safe mode and uninstalled Logitech G Hub. I’m not keen on swapping out the laptop just yet because I don’t want to waste hours re-installing everything. I’ve attached five DMP files along with a reliability history for your reference. Thank you.
1)wouldn't the issue not be related to a spike since it also occurs even more frequently when unplugged 2)the laptop came with windows 11 out of the box. Would it still be worth it to install windows 10 then? 3) I've tried the stable version of Nvidia drivers from windows update. No difference unfortunately 4) how would I know which bios versions are "stable"?
I’ll take a look at those thank you notes. Since it’s a new laptop, I might be able to bring it in and exchange it without spending too much time reinstalling everything. However, during the troubleshooting, I’ve already used up a lot of time. Thank you for checking the DMP files as well.
