BSOD after overclocking
BSOD after overclocking
Hey, a while back I tried to boost my CPU speed using those instructions.
Here are the details:
i5 3570K @ 3.40ghz (now at 4.4)
Noctua NH-U14S Ultra-Quiet Slim CPU Cooler with 140mm
xfx 650w PSU
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 980
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 Motherboard
2x 4gb Corsair Vengence black RAM
1TB WD Caviar black
Corsair 400R Case
Windows 7
Attempted BIOS overclocking but used utility tools to view settings:

The issue I’m facing is that after overclocking, my PC frequently freezes or crashes, forcing a manual reboot. When a BSOD appears, the message reads “page fault in nonpaged area.” I adjusted the DRMA voltage to 1.550, hoping it would assist, but the problem persists. The PC freezes especially when I’m streaming videos. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
i was adjusting it gradually, thinking I’d increase it by .1 (from 3.4 to 3.5, then 3.6, etc., testing with prime95 each time)
currently i’m at 4.3 but i’m getting unsure, did i make a mistake? and is my cpu voltage offset 0.005 acceptable?
a voltage of 0.005 won’t make much difference
your overclock is not stable
you should modify settings or reduce the overclock
I wonder if you thought it would be better to handle this gradually, as most instructions suggest. When problems arise, you modify the cpu voltage and keep an eye on temperatures.
I was adjusting this gradually, aiming for a rise of .1 (from 3.4 to 3.5, then 3.6, etc., testing with prime95 each cycle).
Currently, I've reduced it to 4.3, but I'm uncertain if I made an error and wonder if my CPU voltage offset is correct at 0.005.
It seems like you're referring to a specific issue or observation about CPU voltage requirements. Let me know if you'd like help clarifying or expanding on this!
