Quick question. You purchased the MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard with AMD AM4 DDR4 PCIe 4.0, SATA 6Gb/s M.2 USB 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI/DP ATX 7C56-003R from that Amazon link. You're connecting it to your AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and 32GB RAM. You're worried the CPU might not work out of the box. Can someone assist you in checking this? You mentioned you're new to building PCs and want to avoid updating BIOS, which can be tricky. Is there a way to verify compatibility from the manufacturer or see if your BIOS version is listed with the package? Some YouTube videos suggest BIOS updates are needed for certain models, while others say it's fine. Your part list is here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/rkbvwc

The level of bottleneck present is unavoidable. Have you already received the 5600x or can you obtain a 5800X3D? Either way, it should function and if it doesn’t, the BIOS flashback on the board should be avoided. It worked out of the box with this motherboard.

The motherboard may have an outdated BIOS that doesn’t match your CPU, but it still offers a BIOS flashback option to update without needing the CPU—just press a specific button. Generally, the B550 should work with any 5000 series CPU right out of the box, unless you have an extremely old model.

You're dealing with uncertainty about BIOS versions and hardware compatibility. It's understandable to feel concerned after only a short period of setup. Make sure you double-check your system's BIOS information before making any changes, and consider consulting the manufacturer's guidelines for best practices.

I’m hoping for a fresh shipment arriving soon. Do you think it’ll feel like something brand new compared to what you’re used to?

The bios needed an update from the manufacturer prior to use. Are you playing in 4K? That should be fine.

Currently I'm sticking with gaming at 4k due to cost considerations, but I'm okay with 2k on a 27-inch display. My desk doesn't have room for a larger screen. Perhaps in the future I'll upgrade, but the monitor I received fits my needs and the reviews are good for its price: https://www.amazon.ae/dp/B0927KDSZ7?psc=...ct_details

This option would function well or you might want to verify the display here https://www.amazon.ae/Xiaomi-Monitor-344...C83&sr=8-7

It's a bit too large, T.T. I initially aimed for 32 inches but found it too big as well /: Eventually decided on the ViewSonic option

Typically, the maker displays the BIOS version included with the board on the barcode tag inside the motherboard packaging. This information can be matched against the supported CPUs listed on the manufacturer’s website.
