Bottleneck
Hi, your setup looks solid for the I3-4170. The GTX 1650 4GB OC should handle your 3.7GHz i3-4170 well, especially for gaming or light workloads. Since you're waiting on the GPU, expect occasional minor bottlenecks like slight stutters or spikes during intense scenes. If you notice performance drops, consider using a higher-end GPU or optimizing settings.
There could be a minor delay, but everything should work fine.
It really varies by game, but generally more threads mean better performance than 4. The GPU won’t be as efficient with a weaker CPU, but that’s okay—just check how it handles your chosen titles. Once you’re satisfied with the gaming experience, focus on overall PC performance. If you need a replacement for your i3, consider an used i7 4770 or any i7 from that era; it’s a solid upgrade option without breaking the bank.
in games where they do not benefit/ scale to more cores, then it could fine. but this is a 2c/4t chip and does not have the best ipc, it will struggle in a lot of things, depends on the game really and how cpu demanding it is.
I don’t find many places to buy a used i7, but if I could, it would be awesome
In a few months I’ll be able to purchase an i3-9100F, a fresh motherboard, and RAM. The total cost won’t be too high, making it a solid choice? Right now I’m just excited to play GTA 5, Forza Horizon 4, CS:GO, Valorant, Rocket League, The Crew 2, and more.
