Hello everyone,
I purchased this game over a year ago, and at the moment I can play without issues (just low fps, my old PC).
Recently, after playing for a couple of months, I encountered some problems...
When starting the game, after 2 to 10 minutes both my screen would close (signal not found, no HDMI signal, etc.). The only solution was forcing my PC to restart.
I’m still in the game because I keep the music, footsteps, and other effects playing (can’t shoot, it feels like it’s stuck on Windows).
I tried reducing graphics settings, changing resolution, removing one screen, but nothing helped—the game keeps crashing.
GPU model: Zotac GTX970
RAM: 8GB DDR3
CPU: i5 3550
Another issue I noticed is a fan noise coming from the GPU. My suspicion is it’s failing or nearly dead. Could this be causing the screens to shut down?
Thanks for your response. Appreciate you taking the time to read me!
Regards,
MorderNo

It might be related to the driver. If you're using the newest drivers, reverting them a few versions could help. I don't think updating GPU drivers is necessary unless you have an older GPU or aren't playing the latest games. If older drivers work, changing them isn't worth it.

Also, the GPU seems to have other problems. Have you tried running a stress test to check temperatures? This can help determine if overheating is the cause.

It's a good idea, I'll roll back a few versions beforehand!
What kind of stress test would you suggest?
Thanks for the reply!

Unigine Heaven performs well. Since it operates in a windowed mode, tools like Afterburner can help monitor GPU activity.

I'll try all of that and I'll keep you informed if you're okay with it
Thanks for the assistance!

So I ran the test in High and got a result saying "well," but then when I tried Extreme it crashed and the screen shut down again—no signal at all! Does that mean my GPU is dead or not powerful enough?

Did you check temperatures during testing? I can't provide an accurate response without the actual data. However, it seems a replacement GPU might be necessary.

I'll attempt to keep track, though they tend to shut down soon, so I might miss what's going on. Will try.

First test:
Windowed (1920x1071)
Preset: Custom
Quality: Medium
DX11
Max temp is 93°C!
Could have cooling issues
My prediction is it might exceed 105 and shut down to avoid damage. Should I attempt running in extreme again?

I believe we have sufficient information there. If cooling was functioning correctly, it wouldn't exceed 85°C. And if the fan is producing unusual sounds beyond just resonance, then that unit is likely to fail.
