14700KF offers improved performance and higher FPS. However, it runs on the 14th generation Intel architecture, which may lead to some degradation and only has one upgrade route—14900K or KS. I’d recommend the 7700x instead since it’s not significantly worse, tends to be more affordable, and generally has better long-term support with fewer compatibility issues. Alternatively, look for a non-X 7700 model, which is usually even cheaper and only about 2-3% slower than the X variant. It’s a solid choice if you prioritize cost and reliability.

They perform very similarly in gaming terms. However, I strongly suggest the 7700x since it runs on the AM5 platform, which offers future upgrades such as the 9800X3D or the upcoming 10800X3D (or whatever they name next). It also consumes less power compared to the 14700k.

You can move up to 9800x3D and upcoming CPUs. 14700KF isn't as good since once you hit 14900K there won't be more upgrades, and you'll need a new motherboard again for the next CPU after that.
