So I am in a bad situation. Both my laptop and pc won't work. I guess I just have terrible luck with pcs. But here are the situations: 1. My 10+ year old laptop with win 7 just sort of gave up i guess. I was listening to music and downloading a game and all of a sudden it froze and gave me a bsod. Now my laptop won't start. When I press the power button it takes 30+ secs to even show the startup logo screen and then just doesn't boot into windows. I used the bootable pendrive and when I tried to reinstall win 7 it just refused to detect my hdd. I used the cmd in that and it showed hdd in full size. 2. Most of the times my pc starts and operates normally but sometimes it just refuses to start. What will happen is it will just show the logo and just go on infinite loading. Sometimes it even refuses to give any output. My monitor will just go 'hdmi', 'analog', 'hdmi' trying to find any output. The pc will run and fans spin but just no display. (Gpu = Colorful 1650 super) 3. Now an even worse situation has happened, I connected my laptop HDD to my pc to see what's inside, my pc has a boot SSD and a HDD so I unplugged my pc HDD and connected my laptop HDD and it obviously refused to boot and then I reconnected my pc HDD and now it won't boot. It goes straight to bios. It shows it detected windows boot manager but refuses to boot. I have faced this issue before so I did all the things reseated ram and gpu, CMOS reset, 1 ram stick at a time, changed sata ports on motherboard and drives even sata power. 4. Before anyone suggest to use my pc SSD in my laptop. I have already tried that and when I turn it on it just gives me beeps and just no display. I know these are a lot of issues and it all started in March except the pc not turning on sometimes issue its been for a while. If any tech experts out there please suggest fixes. I will be more than grateful.
I suppose you never replaced the disk, so its a 10+ year old disk in there? Thats probably far beyond the life expectancy of that disk Its probabaly dead, good news is most old laptops are easy to swap disks in compared to the modern ones I personnaly have a disk thats so broken it will prevent any pc from booting if you install it Tried booting with only PC SSD? Installing a drive with another windows boot manager could've messed with the boot priority, and where the pc expects to find an operating system Could you try disconnect all disks but the SSD and then force a boot from the bios menu? There is usually a boot override there you can use If it shows the windows-loading icon while still show the bios logo, i imagine this being a issue with a dying drive? If you get back in, then download crystal disk info, its very handy as it shows the disk health in percent. Then post the output https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/
