Your motherboard supports two 8-bit CPU cables, so you only need one for the 9800X3D. Your setup with the NXT X510 flow and the fan placement means you can use just one 8-pin connector.

Only a single unit offers about twice the power it needs.

About 99% of the time chips don’t require dual 8-pins, except for the motherboard which adds extra features.

Thanks for asking. It won’t harm the motherboard, but it might slightly affect the CPU power cable. Just ensure the connection remains secure.

Sure, just make sure it stays mostly the same.

Without understanding the exact meaning of "pushes down," it's difficult to assess. In person, you should be able to tell if something is harming anything.

Running both 8 pins just provides theoretically smoother power delivery. If you were into LN2 cooling, I'd say use both, but outside that you're fine with just one. Even a single 4pin would likely be enough As for the pressure on the cable, that's kind of a "if it works, don't worry" situation. It's just power and through chonky pins at that. All it really needs is contact somewhere along the pin.

It's not a 12VHPWR connector, which means you should be okay as long as it's fully seated and you're not applying any force.
