Use Afterburner and keep an eye on VRAM consumption. Run the game for a short time, then check the usage when it decreases.

The problem isn't with your CPU; it's related to how PhysX is being processed. Your performance seems limited by software factors rather than hardware capability. Are you rendering PhysX directly on your CPU?

It indicates an auto option is available, with "PhysX GPU" listed beneath it, suggesting the system likely relies on a GPU for processing.

Download the uninstaller from the provided link, reinstall the latest drivers (keeping PhysX updated), and then attempt the process again.

It looks like the issue might be resolved by checking the Borderlands .ini files and adjusting certain settings.

It's just how physx works in those games. It's a huge fps killer. Nothing can really fix it.

Physx in intense combat demands significant single-thread performance. Even with modern GPUs, the CPU often becomes the limiting factor. While hardware runs on the GPU, it still depends on the CPU for processing. I experienced similar struggles and focused on optimization techniques. Many solutions ignore GPU limitations, but for me, the CPU was the main constraint during high settings. The best fix was lowering the particle count—default is unlimited, which can cause instability in multiplayer battles. Adjusting this helped me keep around 60 frames per second even during intense fights with heavy elemental attacks and weapons.
