The specs confirm it's a BL2 runs poorly club. Generally it works fine, but big areas like Thousand Cuts and Tundra Express cause problems (the Highlands are smooth except in Sanctuary). My guess is I struggle with expansive scenes full of activity. Previously I used PhysX, which helped bring performance up to around 45, though it's still not ideal. Disabling it improved things, but cell shading was off too, further boosting speed. Still seeing occasional drops, suggesting a CPU limitation. I've tweaked many settings in the config files without much luck, so I'm leaning toward a CPU bottleneck now.

It's uncertain, but it could be a chance. Perhaps I can configure rivatuner to check for writing to the page file. With only 4GB of RAM, it might become a constraint. In the near future, I'll likely switch the whole platform, making adding more RAM now pointless.

Your processing power and memory usage are both limiting right now. With Windows' memory compression active, you're down to around 3GB for the game, and the compression also uses CPU cycles. What setting do you use? Any visual effects that strain your CPU or raise memory demand will noticeably lower your frame rate, particularly in an open-world title like Borderlands, and this impact is more pronounced at lower settings. Disable any nVidia-related features, as most of their workload shifts to the CPU even on dedicated GPUs.

Physx is turned off currently. I assumed the CPU wouldn’t be a bottleneck, and since I’m playing at 1440p without noticeable lag compared to 1080p, I decided to go for 2K instead.

It's clear the frame rate drops at Thousand Cuts too. When checking the ground level, both FPS and GPU usage rise, but the bandit camps consistently show FPS and GPU usage staying low, pointing to a solid CPU limitation.

Those CPUs you have in your sig should not bottleneck the game, unless there's something odd about that xeon

It works well on the Xeon system. However, the 6700HQ can be challenging at times.

The problem lies with the CPU. My i5 caused issues, though an i7 would be better. Still, it affects performance in certain parts.
