People were curious about how Luke or Linus used the same drive for their test bench, swapping hardware often and likely not reinstalling everything from scratch to compare performance. How could I replicate this setup? We understand that using the same drive across different boards isn't possible due to compatibility issues.

You might need to dive into safe mode and install drivers carefully. Connect your drive from another system and try to boot. The computer will show a blue screen because it thinks it's running the wrong OS. After restarting, you can choose safe mode, which loads basic drivers that are slower but allows the system to start. Windows then identifies the right hardware and updates the drivers automatically. Booting this way sometimes works, though it isn't guaranteed. When testing performance, people often use the same machine with different CPUs or GPUs to avoid changing devices constantly.

They utilize identical motherboards and simply swap out the external parts. To be entirely honest, the device is likely running around 90-95% due to frequent hardware changes and extra registry updates. Please avoid doing this with a standard machine.
