Hi, for some time now, my PC isn't starting properly when using just the power button. On first try it powers up but the screen and peripherals don't work correctly. I can fix everything by pressing restart. During the start-up process, when I press the power button the CPU_LED lights up, DRAM_LED flashes, then VGA_LED and BOOT_LED fail to turn on. Pressing the restart button makes all four lights flash in the right order. I haven't found much guidance online about this problem. TIA.

Hi, thank you for your quick response.
My setup includes an Asus Strix Z270f motherboard with an I7 7700k processor, GTX 1080 graphics, a Corsair Vengeance DDR4 8GB x2 RAM, and a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD for booting. The power supply is also from Corsair.
I have verified all connections and re-seated the RAM.
The PC runs Windows 10 64-bit, and I've completed health checks on all components, which appear to be functioning properly.

Which power supply model is this? You may inspect the power button cable connected to the motherboard and verify it is properly secured.
If attempting to boot into safe mode, will the peripherals function correctly?

Attempt to turn off fast boot in BIOS settings. Occasionally, if fast boot is active, the storage device isn't fully prepared before the system tries to boot from it. The boot sequence stops, but restarting resolves the problem.

Thank you for the suggestion, I attempted it again and remained in the same position.

Then replace SSD.
It's rather old model and probably on the way out.
Those are SSD pre-failure signs you're experiencing.
