Hi everyone,
New setup is here.
Rzyen7900X3D
X670E Asrock Taichi
XFX 7900 XTX
1000 watt seasonic PSU
1TB WD
2TB Lexar
I managed to assemble and install Windows 11 without problems. I also had an old hard drive connected through SATA, which held data from my previous computer. After updating the BIOS before installing Windows and adjusting the memory speed to 6000MHz, everything worked well.
But when I removed the old drive and restarted the PC, it kept jumping straight back to the BIOS. Even after looking into BIOS settings and trying different configurations, I still couldn’t get a stable boot from the main drive.
In a moment of frustration, I did a clean reinstall of the OS, which has fixed the problem temporarily.
I’m still trying to figure out what exactly caused this. Do any of you have faced a similar issue and know what might have led to it?

When both drives are connected during installation, the first OS attempts to write certain aspects to the other drive. It is advised to connect only the source drive for Windows installation. Running into problems may occur if you restore the other drive; do you have a backup or an external drive caddy available for data transfer and formatting?

Hi punkncat,
Thanks for your reply. I think things got worse once the hard drive was taken out. I just reinstalled Windows again without it. I’m hoping everything works properly moving forward.
