Boot failure with M.2 NVMe storage device

Hello, good day, evening, morning, and night. Thank you for reaching out and trying to assist me. I recently purchased a Lexar NM790 2TB for my H410M-A PRO motherboard, but it doesn’t seem to identify it as a bootable drive. I have a flash drive available, yet I’m unable to set it as the first boot drive so I can flash it. When opening Windows, the drive manager recognizes it, but in BIOS it remains unclear. The unusual part is that when I access advanced settings, it offers a diagnostic option for the M.2 SSD, which confirms its presence. No issues were reported during testing. Things I attempted without success: unplugging the old HDD to force connection (HDMI output had no signal), and trying to enable CSM configuration as suggested by others. It still didn’t recognize the drive afterward. Anyone with insights would be appreciated. Best regards, Hermees

To set up Windows on a M.2 drive, you must first start the installation from the Windows media on your USB stick.

Join the discussion boards! After making the Windows installation USB using the Windows Installer, restart your system and access the BIOS settings, then proceed to boot from the USB. In the installation wizard, choose your new storage device as the target for the setup.

You attempted to boot from the flash drive and saw a new menu listing four available drives along with their contents. The SSD and USB flash drive are shown, but you’re unable to find the setup wizard or start the installation process.

I added the media here: link then restarted into bios. The lower left corner says "USB boot." It restarts and shows a menu with my HDD, USB, and SS M.2 options. When I click USB, I see the contents, but clicking other items doesn’t activate the installer. This should work automatically. I didn’t disconnect my HDD while Windows was running because I needed it for HDMI output, but the MB HDMI isn’t showing anything.

Do you possess a GPU? It seems the USB might not have been properly printed. When you start from it, you should see the spinning window indicators followed by a display similar to this.
