I understand your point, but if I had stayed within the guidelines and used a VM for OSX, I wouldn’t have purchased my 27-inch Mac. Those experiences would have made me more appreciative of it. You can't just stay at BEST BUY all day—there’s too much irritation involved.

You can install Windows onto an SSD using the USB drive during the setup process. It works even for a brand new PC.

Yes, you let it boot off the USB just like the DVD.

It seems I haven’t fully grasped the process of booting from a DVD. I’m unsure if I need the USB drive in or out at that stage. I’d like to know more once I install Windows.

Ensure the Windows/USB copy is ready to boot. It should work without manual copying.

Once bootable, place the device in your USB port—USB 2 is recommended.

Power on your computer gently, not by resetting it. Press the required key to access BIOS settings, often labeled SETUP.

Configure the boot order so the USB becomes the primary drive. Save changes and exit. The Windows key is essential since you can’t retrieve it later from the setup.

For DVD boot, set it as the first boot option too. If it fails, check formatting or preparation of your Windows files.

For older systems, USB may not support booting. Follow the provided instructions carefully.

My situation is different. The H440 optical drive isn't a factor for me.

They offer USB drives as well. I'm not sure if it's possible to start from them.
