Boosted Ryzen performance leads to frequent restarts during peak usage.
Wasn't until recently that I ran across this issue when I changed my Handbrake encode settings for 4k encoding. After about 15 min at full load computer will completely reboot (no BSOD just black screen) fans etc stay on though. After a lot of testing the only option that seems to resolve this is disabling Core Performance Boost in the bios (all other overclocking is not enabled ever). The weird part is my son was experiencing the same issue when playing games randomly and disabling the same setting in his bios resolved it as well. Cases have multiple fans with plenty of air flow, and CPU temps never get over 70deg. On my one computer I can confirm that the system is not drawing more than the PSU can handle because my UPS monitors spikes and wattage and during those times I seen it reboot it was never over 200w total draw. Here are the specs of the two computers: Gigabyte B450M DS3H, Ryzen 5 2600, RX 6600, 32gb 3000mhz ram (xmp is not enabled), 512gb wd black nvme, evga 750 psu, Thermaltake Contac Silent 12 150W cpu cooler MSI MAG B550M Bazzoka, Ryzen 5 3600, RX 6600 XT, 16gb 3200mhz ram (xmp is not enabled), 2tb sabrent rocket nvme, evga supernova 650 g5 psu, Cooler Master 120 AIO cooler Here is what I have done so far: Updated to latest BIOS, reset bios to defaults, disabled XMP, disabled windows antivirus, swapped with a different 3600. Can successfully replicate the issue with Prime95 stress test so it is not limited to Handbrake or games. Strangely enough I can run the tests on my 3600 with 5 of the 6 cores and it never seems to trigger it, and it doesn't matter which cores. I have read somewhere that this is a known issue of Ryzen processors, but was wondering if anyone has had any luck in resolving this issue other than just completely disabling Core Performance Boost?
