You just installed your first Ryzen system and noticed it running at high speeds even when idle. I’m unsure if this is normal or safe, especially since I’m new to Ryzen. Your specs include a Ryzen 7 3700X, NZXT Kraken X53, and a GTX 1060. All components are stocked with BIOS updates except the CPU speed settings. If you have any insights, please let me know—I’m a bit worried.

CPU usage when not in use varies unpredictably, with significant changes being typical.

Normally fine. The Ryzen increases its voltage during light workloads with fewer cores and threads to maximize performance. When you apply any task, you'll see a noticeable drop in voltage.
