Hello, seeking advice from 1600AF users. What boost performance you're seeing in heavy multi-core and long-running tasks like Cinebench? Which motherboard are you using? Reviews often mention keeping all cores at 3.7GHz, but yours is around 3.4GHz, similar to an older 1600AE model. You're wondering if it's a BIOS or hardware issue, especially since temperatures are normal (51-54°C) and scores are in the 51C-54C range.

It depends on whether your system has precision boost or XFR support, plus the cooler you're running. Most MSI boards come with PBO turned on by default, so you'd likely achieve around 3.75 with good case airflow on a solid motherboard.

I don't see those settings in BIOS. It seems only certain CPUs offer this feature, not just "X" models. (I noticed only Core Performance Boost in my BIOS.) Using GAMMAXX 400, I've never seen a CPU exceeding 54c, and the case airflow is great. Recently I did a clean Windows 10 install—all updates, latest chipset drivers, etc.—and it didn't change anything. On the old version and now on the fresh install, performance is identical. All cores max out at 3440MHz.

This was initially a misunderstanding; all Ryzen processors include XFR, yet precision boost Overdrive has proven to be more beneficial.

Perhaps connecting someone who uses the same board and CPU would help—like an AsRock B450 fatal1ty gaming K4 with BIOS 3.90. If other brands are upgrading to 3.7GHz with the same CPU, it might indicate an issue with AsRock. I’ve managed to boost to 3.8GHz, as recorded by HWMonitor, likely for a short time, but it seems I only get single or two cores consistently during intense tests. I’m focusing mainly on all cores 99% of the time under heavy load.

ASRock BIOS settings aren't particularly impressive, yet a manual overclock isn't the worst approach.

There aren't many choices, but it's quite simple to adjust the PC CPU manually.
