It's a full boot cycle, I can change the UEFI settings and other things, but I can't reach the BIOS. I've reset it, yet it keeps looping back to advanced repair. Bitlocker recovery says my pin is correct, then it restarts and shows an empty bitlocker screen. I can't fix it myself because I fear damaging the screen, and Microsoft is charging around $900 for a fix. I'm really stuck and don't know what to do. I don't think direct hardware recovery will help. I've tried resetting with power and volume buttons, but nothing works. Please help me—I don't want to lose my device. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My machine is a Surface Book.

It seems your window setup might be having problems. Have you attempted to reinstall the operating system? You’d just need to open it up to swap out the storage drive. This method is similar to what you’d do with many tablets and smartphones. A tech repair service would likely assist you with this. I don’t know the exact effort involved, but it should take around two hours, just like a standard tablet. First, confirm whether this is truly required.

It seems the system likely has a broken installation, requiring a boot from a device selection. You should enter it in basic Windows mode, then access UEFI via Fastboot. If Windows isn't functional, alternative methods may be necessary.

It seems the SSD is working at least partially. After all, Windows Bitlocker starts and can load parts of the system. You mention you can’t access the BIOS but can adjust UEFI settings. There are specific USB recovery files available for Surface devices like yours. I recommend checking the guidance provided: Boot Surface from a USB device - Microsoft Support. It offers download links for your Surface book.
