Alright... I got a weird one for yall. Kvm Av access 8ksw21-kvm Build R 3600 B450 I aorus pro wifi 16 gb ram Gtx 1070 Win 11 This is my girls rig. So, everything needs to function properly or she trips. The meat: I updated the bios from f51 to f66i (f62 was a major vulnerability update). Now the kvm doesn't send signal during boot. I have to unplug power to the kvm, plug it back in. Then it works. This was not a problem before. It just worked. It also means if the system needs to reboot/ gets powered down. This happens. It doesn't not happen waking from sleep though. All drivers are up to date. I also tried reinstalling GPU driver.

I might experiment with fastboot configurations (like disabling it?) or check if USB power states were altered during the BOIS update. It seems BOIS works just like BIOS, so there’s no clear reason why 'Input' should come before 'Output' (they’re both technically incorrect in UEFI).

It's usually advised to restore the BIOS configurations to their original state following an update, since unusual actions might happen otherwise. Naturally, this means you'll need to carefully reconfigure everything to its previous condition.

Occasionally some peripherals didn't work well with certain KVM units. I had to switch to a USB 2.0 port, which seemed to help. Also, my old monitor would sometimes stay blank during connections, so I had to power it off and on again. Try adjusting the monitor settings—disable auto-select, choose HDMI, and check Windows power options for advanced settings. Turn off USB selective suspend and review BIOS for any USB power-saving features. Updating the BIOS can reset some defaults. Sometimes a KVM isn't providing feedback to the USB port, which can affect devices like a branded mouse connected via KVM.

Fast boot remains turned off since then. All power states appear consistent. Yes, the update brought everything back to the default configuration. I had to reapply my settings myself. In fact, the problem surfaced right after the update. I assumed there was a more serious issue because I couldn’t see anything until I disabled the kvm for display. To keep configuring UEFI, I should have explained things more clearly. The main concern is the display. I’ll need to verify if other peripherals are impacted as well.

Have you considered refreshing the firmware on your graphics card? There are cases where updating the motherboard leads to overall screen issues that are resolved by the newest VBIOS for your GPU.
