Boards featuring separate USB connections
Boards featuring separate USB connections
Hi, I've heard some recent updates regarding boards with isolated USB ports. Companies like Aorus and Asus have released models such as the X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING, featuring USB DAC-UP 2 and TrueVolt. MSI also offered an USB Audio Device in the past (Z97). I'm experiencing buzz and hum from my PC to HS5s, which isn't coming from the power supply. Testing other PSU brands didn't resolve the issue, indicating my unshielded USB ports might be the cause. My home electricity is properly grounded and using an UPS didn't help, so I'm exploring motherboard options with this feature. If it doesn't become available soon, I might consider alternatives like the iFi iSilencer+, iFi iPurifier3, or other premium choices. I'm hoping new boards with this capability will appear soon. Of course, I could look on eBay for an AORUS GAMING X470, but I'd prefer an X570. Thanks for the info!
Achieving high speed as described on the Evo 4 site demands high speed, not just full speed. It would be risky to attempt. - https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B084BZ7PGF/?col..._lig_dp_it - https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07DLMZP5Y/?col..._lig_dp_it I’d need two units—one for my USB DAC and another for my audio interface. Since I’m planning an upgrade, if a motherboard offers this capability, it seems unnecessary to spend at least 140$ plus CAD twice that amount on a new board. I’m hoping Gigabyte or Asus will announce new models, but I’m also looking to see if anyone has heard anything about this.
Also noticed the links for ROG Crosshair models on the official site. The X570 platform includes TrueVolt support, and getting it for just 500 CAD is quite impressive. The only other option seems to be the Intel side, which you can find here.
Not inexpensive yet, but it's accessible. It's a premium board. It will contain many unnecessary items.
That's the problem, right? I'm hoping we'll see more choices soon with the 5000 launch!
Here are some alternatives you might find useful:
- [ROG Strix B550 Gaming Board](https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog...ing-model/) (350$ on Newegg)
- [ROG Strix B550 I Gaming Board](https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG...-I-GAMING/) (300$ on Canada Computers)
These options are priced between 300-350 CAD and support USB-C, making them suitable for your Evo4. Keep exploring if you need more choices!
