Hi guys, my laptop's Bluetooth is suddenly gone. The button that lets me turn it on or off isn't showing up in the Action Center either. I've looked at all kinds of tips from Google but nothing worked. Has anyone seen this before? I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or a software one. Bluetooth still shows up in Device Manager, but the Bluetooth Support Service wasn't running and restarting it didn't help. The laptop is a Lenovo 720S 14". So far I've tried: --Restarting the Bluetooth Support Service/Tweaker Proxy Service --Re-adding Bluetooth to Action Center (the option was gone) --Uninstalling and reinstalling the Bluetooth device --Running the troubleshooting software

I have tried different fixes online but nothing has worked yet. Have other people had this problem before? To make sure we don't waste time on things that didn't work for them, please tell me exactly what you've tried before posting here. You can use the laptop's serial number from Lenovo's support page and check CPU-Z to see your current BIOS version under the Mainboard tab, then try updating it if needed. If not, go to Device Manager (on Windows 10) right-click on the BlueTooth adapter, choose "Uninstall device," but do NOT restart your computer yet. Then, click "Restart" in the command prompt window and run as Administrator to reinstall the drivers for the BlueTooth adapter.

You are very correct. I have pasted all my attempts here already. I changed my bios back a couple of years ago, but it looks like it is still the newest version. I will try to reinstall the BT drivers with special permissions and yes, I am on Windows 10. I noticed something strange; Device Manager keeps refreshing constantly which makes everything hard to do. There was also a Windows Update from today that didn't work properly. I tried it several times now and it still isn't working. Maybe that broke something? Thanks for the tips

I noticed something strange lately. The device manager keeps changing things around, which makes it hard to do anything. There was also a Windows update from today that didn't finish well. Maybe keeping your bootable USB handy would help. I think the OS might be broken when you say the Device Manager is just refreshing.

I'm not 100% sure why but when I switched on the laptop this morning Bluetooth was working again as normal. I did install a Bluetooth update through Lenovo Vantage though so maybe it was a driver issue and that fixed it. I notice that device manager is no longer refreshing constantly now. I don't think there's any need for further action. I think I did create a recovery thing a few years ago but that's long lost now. I think I'll create a backup of this OS install and upgrade to Windows 11. Thanks for your assistance.
