Alright so recently I've been doing a little overclocking and have been able to get everything stable at my current settings. In trying to get just a little more juice out of my CPU I have been attempting to OC my NB. Well I've tried various voltages, decreasing HT speed, RAM frequency. I just can't get anything stable, even at only 2200 MHZ (2000 stock). They all randomly (I mean, completely random) BSOD. I get this error:

To help diagnose your issue, you must supply the details that were entered into the Bios.

To help diagnose your issue, you'll need to enter the Bios settings with the correct values. For both the CPU and memory to run at 2600Mhz, the NB and HT voltages should be at least 1.3v each. It might be due to the motherboard defaulting to 1.3v even though it shows 1.1v in OverDrive. You can try adjusting the BIOS settings until it reflects 1.3v in OverDrive.

It was a no-go. I attempted twice, once using cpu/nb at 1.4v and once with cpu/nb at 1.4v and nb at 1.3v. In both cases, I encountered strange blue screens that appeared to point to some Nvidia drivers. Here are the details:

I only need to understand the distinction between NB VID and NB voltage, so I can try adjusting them.
I’d also appreciate knowing some solid starting points, the average values required to hit 2400–2600, especially from someone with some experience using both.
Thanks!

This discussion is quite engaging for me as well. I'm facing a similar issue and would appreciate any feedback. Your configuration is quite alike, do you have 1150MHz DDR2 RAM? If yes, could you provide more details about your overclocking? Also, please share the voltage information.

Do you possess a 6GB (three 2GB units)? the tri-channel setup is designed exclusively for x58 chipset and i7-9xx models; your present setup includes at least one stick operating in single channel, which negatively impacts overall performance.

I understand one stick is single channel, I chose 6GB RAM because it was cheaper, right? Won't that have a big impact? And regarding your question about performance, my computer runs slower with more RAM?
