The antivirus is restricting access to certain apps and games, and it blocks downloads or updates. I'm unsure if disabling it is the best option since my system functions normally without it, but I want to be safe.

I’d switch your antivirus for Malwarebytes. https://www.malwarebytes.org/ (free version) Also, Windows includes a solid scanner that performs well when used correctly.

I would choose to set up Microsoft Security Essentials or eliminate it entirely. When removing it, ensure caution and use Malwarebytes regularly for weekly or monthly scans.
