Hello,
I noticed the picture doesn’t have a smooth black tone. Is this typical or should I try to fix it? I also added my display settings. Any advice or clarification would be appreciated.
My monitor supports HDR.
Thank you!

It occurs with me when my 1440p screen displays 1080p content, possibly due to an incorrect display resolution.

The render is 2293x960 21:9. There is another option but that one is smaller. I’ll try it though. I tried turning of dlss but that didn’t do anything. I can’t seem to find an answer. Not really sure what to search for.

Adjust brightness settings within the game. Verify if your monitor uses running RGB on Windows and configure render resolution to the default.

I attempted that and it remains unchanged. Here are my settings.

Control is an unusual experience.
The lighting setup that affects the black uses indirect ray tracing with diffuse lighting.
DLSS isn't beneficial, so I turn it off.
Without RT the visuals aren't great and I wouldn't want to play it on a VA or TN display without it.
The game also appears poor when HDR is turned on.

Are these effects limited to Control? You need your dynamic range fully set to avoid dull whites and grey blacks. I’m also confused about why you’re using YCbCr 422 instead of 444 or RGB. I don’t fully grasp the differences, but 444 and RGB are essentially full-range colors, while 422 has some restrictions. After that, I’d run Windows Calibration and check the link provided to calibrate your monitor properly. Try using the built-in settings—it’s a good monitor and should have plenty. My cheaper monitors only offer brightness and contrast adjustments.
