Black screen with fans running at full power
Black screen with fans running at full power
Hi, I recently upgraded my mainboard and CPU, but now gaming—especially FIFA23—causes major issues. During matches, especially when switching views like shooting corners, I experience a sudden black screen with intense fan noise, though the game audio remains audible. I’m forced to manually restart the system because I can’t access anything. I’ve tried troubleshooting: temperatures are high but stable, GPU usage is around 84% at 83°C and peak power draw is about 150 watts. The CPU runs at 50% load, stays healthy at 75°C, and uses 65 watts—same as before. My main concern is the PSU; with a 500-watt unit, I’m worried it won’t handle the combined load of CPU, GPU, and future capacity loss after three years. The CPU cooler is still adequate, and drivers are up to date. I’ve changed thermal paste on the GPU and checked for updates, even tried an older GPU version. I’m puzzled since Microsoft Flight Simulator runs smoothly despite similar demands. PS: My CPU has an 8-pin power connector, but I only used a 4-pin PSU cable, which might be part of the problem. Hope someone can help with this situation. Thanks!
