I began with Black Myth Wukong on Steam, but it failed to launch. The Event Viewer showed an error message in CROT, and the benchmark tool functioned correctly. Here’s the crash report from the tool:

- Application: b1-Win64-Shipping.exe
- Version: 5.0.0.0
- Timecode: 0x66bb9d9e
- Crash handler DLL: crashhandler64.dll
- Timecode: 10.11.97.72
- Timecode: 0x68df344a
- Final crash code: 0xc0000409
- ID process: 0x5374
- Timecode: 0x1DC4A84EEF1A7DB

Steps I tried: fresh Windows install, new Wukong and Steam setup, memory check, reinstall C++, driver updates, compatibility mode, ran as admin, PC health check, disabled Steam crash handler. Still stuck after weeks of attempts. Nothing seems to work.

Have you attempted to turn off the Steam overlay? Did you adjust any configurations, or did it begin failing immediately? What resolution are you using?

Steam, Nvidia app, and Discord overlays are turned off. No changes made since I never played the game before. It worked fine at 1920x1080, but now it won’t launch.

The error code 0xc0000409 indicates a memory write violation, likely due to a programming mistake in Windows or drivers. It’s less likely a file corruption issue now that you reinstalled Windows from the beginning. Your suspicion points toward the Nvidia drivers—consider installing the game’s ready drivers manually or revisiting the drivers you used previously. Good luck!

Sadly, yes I've also attempted both options, but it doesn't seem to be effective.

It could be a risky idea, but since you cleared your Windows, why not give Linux a shot? Pop OS or Bazzite are two distributions that come with the Steam client.
