Hello, your recent upgrade to a 980 seems to be working well, but you're noticing Black Flag performs worse than on your 7870. It might be related to the CPU model or system changes. Your Intel Core I5-3570 (3.40GHz, 6MB cache, Socket 1155) is standard, and the issue with your previous 970 model could have affected stability. Consider checking for firmware updates or BIOS compatibility for the new setup.

I haven't tested it on my 970, but I think the driver improvements are lacking.

She shared a YouTube clip showing users achieving 60fps on a 970 at higher options. Her experience shows drops to 24 when using vsycn and further reductions to 45 when vsycn is turned off.

The update shouldn’t have led to a 30% slowdown. Your drivers are up to date. Black Flag performed exceptionally well on my 290x at 1440p, even with a lower card than the 970.

I plan to reinstall the game. Performance is improving in Unity on Ultra compared to Black Flag. (Both Unity and Far Cry 4 are available for free with GPU).

I recall those visual enhancements once caused frame rate drops in Black Flag on NV cards, yet I believed they resolved the issue.
