Hello! I assisted a friend in assembling a PC via video call. After turning it on, the screen failed to display and the debug lights on the motherboard were off. The RAM and fans were active, but the system didn’t power down and there was no output from the display. I suggested removing the GPU and using the DisplayPort on the motherboard’s DP slot—there appears to be an integrated graphics chip in the R7 7800X3D model. I also tried connecting an NVMe SSD and adjusting the RAM, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I checked the CPU power connection and noted that first boot times can be lengthy, sometimes interrupted unexpectedly. Possible causes included a BIOS glitch or a faulty screen. I attempted clearing the CMOS via jumper pins, though the battery was unusual on this board. I also tried flashing the latest BIOS, but it didn’t fix things. After taking the motherboard out and placing it in a box with power connected, only the bottom-right lights (orange and green) lit, but no display appeared. The screen would briefly turn on then go black repeatedly, suggesting a possible RGB issue rather than a debug light. I’m unsure of further steps—please let me know if you have any suggestions! PS: We took out the NVMe heatspreader since it wasn’t needed and didn’t secure it properly for easy access. Hardware details: R7 7800X3D, B650M Gaming X, RTX 4070 TI, Ti Ventus, 32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5, 6000MHz CL30.
