Bizarre BIOS raid error
Bizarre BIOS raid error
Hey everyone. My older Asus Z170A is running OpnSense exclusively, and after swapping to a rack mount case, I encountered an error message: "When RAID configuration was built, ensure to set Sata configuration to RAID mode." I haven’t used RAID on this BIOS before—I’m working with ZFS RAID inside the OS. So far, I’ve changed the CMOS battery, updated the default BIOS settings, and switched the SATA mode from AHCI to RAID just to investigate. The boot LED stays lit in BIOS, but when I reboot or power cycle after entering BIOS, it won’t display a boot image and won’t boot again until I replace the CMOS battery. I’m trying to figure out what’s wrong. Any suggestions? Should I just replace the CMOS and try again, or is it time to consider a new board?
