I tried Bittorrent Sync by adding the folders I wanted to share—music, TV shows, and movies—which total around 1.6TB of data. While watching Avatar: The Last Airbender, the video kept stopping and restarting randomly. Since it hadn’t crashed after two weeks, I decided to reboot the PC. After switching the power on the PSU and restarting normally, accessing the folders took several seconds instead of being instant. This made me concerned about my hard drive failing, especially since I was back to school. I also worried about losing all my movies. But I noticed Bittorrent Sync was still indexing files, so it wasn’t consuming too much bandwidth at that moment. It worked fine afterward. Anyone had similar problems? It was really frustrating, and I couldn’t even play music properly.

Adjust the advanced folder_rescan_interval setting to a significantly larger value. This reduces how frequently Sync performs full scans of the folders being synced, addressing the known performance concern with indexing at Lauen.

The issue started with very slow indexing, taking a long time. It could be because there was a large amount—around 1.6 TB—of data, which made the process even slower.

Maybe there are too many files involved.
