I think you put it in the right spot on the board (B550 PRO VDH WIFI MSI), but the manual only mentions compatibility when it's set to "RAID" mode. Even then, finding your SSD remains difficult. Could you clarify how you're using it?

The problem could stem from a misflagged drive or a faulty component. I’d usually suggest switching to another operating system, but this involves the BIOS. I haven’t tested the M_2 slot yet because I stayed with the first one, which seems more reliable. However, there’s a risk I might need to physically reinstall it if it doesn’t work, leaving me really stuck.

This setup seems a bit confusing. On the B550 the first PCIe slot is for PCIe 4.0. It appears that placing a PCIe 3 NVMe drive there might force the system to default to PCIe 3. The rest of the ports will share bandwidth with most devices except your graphics card. I’m not sure how an M.2 e-key slot would fit in this configuration, but everything USB and SATA will compete for bandwidth. This shouldn’t really affect peripherals like keyboards and mice since their speeds are low, though having a PCIe Wi-Fi card or a hard drive could change things if both are active at once.
