Hey there! I noticed you're trying to get Bioshock running smoothly again. It sounds like the game keeps crashing right after the splash screen, even before loading. You mentioned it works without sound but crashes on input, and everything seems fine otherwise. The laptop specs look good—Windows 8, i7 4500U, GT750M, drivers updated. Are you seeing any error messages or unusual behavior when it starts? Let me know if you want tips on troubleshooting!

Get that too, also try the Virtual Audio Cable, before I reformatted I had it set up and needed that to run the game. No problems on a laptop before.

Did you recall how you used VAC to make it function?

I face the same problem with worms that have been reloaded on my PC. My approach is to wait a bit before it works again.

I experienced an issue where the game failed once; my approach was almost the same as yours, but I wouldn't try it again. Huehue.

It seems like you're dealing with another CoD issue. In CoD 4, your game would crash frequently when loading. The solution was unusual—I had to connect my headset so the input/output jacks worked (1/4" port, not USB). It might not be a perfect fix, but it could help.

It was suggested as a solution on other discussion boards, though I don’t own a microphone and often overlook purchasing one while buying other items.

Simply insert another 1/4" adapter into the port. It may not function properly. You could also experiment with other setups (just audio, just a mic, or both).
