I understand your point, but I only used the DLC for a short time and then stopped. It felt a little let down.
It's been noted that the DLC received positive feedback and many considered it a strong standalone title. Overall, the game is praised for its engaging story and impressive visuals. However, some feel the combat could have been more dynamic, with repetitive secondary attacks for each ability. The air tracks were highlighted as a standout feature.
From its perspective, the game excelled in storytelling, narrative, and visual direction. However, the gameplay feels limited—it leans heavily into arcade-style shooting, lacking depth. The weapon systems were underwhelming, and opponents seemed overly forgiving. While it doesn’t follow a rigid CoD linear structure that penalizes mistakes, the world offered far more exploration than it provided. Many fans appreciate its success, yet some issues are often brushed aside.
I believe diving into that universe would have been far more engaging than focusing on combat. I wouldn’t have cared if it altered the core experience. The parts without fighting were my favorites—the opening up to the carnival, the scenes with the Luteces, the stealth and background elements in Burial at Sea.
Excellent game. I tried it without looking, never having played similar titles before. It was among the first I experienced with a gaming PC on a projector using noise-canceling headphones—it created vivid memories and even made me want new underwear after that intense moment. I highly recommend it to everyone and would share it when showcasing my 4K gaming setup, which looks stunning and performs well on my 42" 4KTV with a GTX980.
