I'm playing a Gigabyte Z170 K1 with the F23 BIOS.
I recently cloned a Samsung EVO 960 from an old SATA stick.
After installing it, I found the BIOS wasn't functioning well—it would crash to a black screen after a few seconds or minutes.
I reset the BIOS and the issue continued.
The computer runs through normally, but the BIOS environment remains unstable.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Is it possible for this to continue even after the new drive isn't put in?

Are you referring to the Gaming K3? I can't see a K1 motherboard online. If you have it, did you update the BIOS correctly? There are two revisions available.

Thank you for the updates.
Yes, the issue occurs with the new drive that was installed.
My error was acknowledged; according to the manual, the motherboard model is a GA-Z170-Gaming K3.
I considered that the BIOS crashing might be linked to input devices like the mouse or keyboard, but also to inactivity after the BIOS screen appears, which lasts 5-30 seconds before a black screen appears.
The BIOS version currently running is F23c, as listed on the provided page.

It's possible the differences are minor and not immediately obvious.

Yeah, I understand now it's 1.1.
I'll attempt to flash to that revision version—just as long as the BIOS remains accessible.
I'll let you know the outcome either way.

Take the battery out for a moment then put it back in. Check if that resolves the issue

Battery was removed for 11 minutes without triggering CMOS activation. System started working normally in Windows. First attempt after reboot showed no "Hit DEL for BIOS" message. Progressed into BIOS and after 3 seconds experienced a crash. Before proceeding, are there any other checks I should perform regarding the BIOS update?
